in the previous halo games, (Excluding halo 1) there has always been a Battle rifle, in halo reach they took the whole Battle rifle and made some big changes such as: it is now semi automatic rather then 3 round burst. The cross hair blooms every time you shoot it. It has 15 shots in a clip and is now called the D.M.R
how to use the new D.M.R: so first off now when to shoot it fast and when not to shoot it fast, EXAMPLE if some one is far away you shoot very slow if someone is very close you spam that trigger like nobody's business, medium range you are to shot them fast and aiming at the chest when you see there shields go down take one good shot to there head...... Like this, BLAM!
another thing is the accuracy is greatly increased when you are crouching
